After Mabkhout's hat-trick, Lima's brace and Ibrahim's strike were completed
India suffered a humiliating 0–6 defeat to the formidable UAE – its heaviest defeat against the Gulf side – in the second international football friendly here on Monday.
India suffered a 5–0 defeat against the United Arab Emirates in 2010 at the international level in Abu Dhabi.
Igor Stimac's side did not have a single shot on target which was a forgettable encounter. Striker Ali Mabkhaut scored a hat-trick in the 12th, 32nd and 60th minutes, while Khalil Ibrahim (64th and Fabio Lima (71) Th and 71st) 84th) completed the tally.
India gave their good account against Oman in their first friendly match on 25 March with a stunning 1–1 draw, but against the UAE, it was clear how to hold the ball, pass together and take chances. Let's make.
The differences in class and technical superiority were all too obvious, although India was without its talisman captain Sunil Chhetri, recovering from the COVID-19 transition. Leading defender Sandesh Jhingan was also rested as Stimac experimented with new players from his Jumbo 27-man squad. The UAE occupied 67% of India's 33 in the first half. Mabkhaut hit a four off Indian goalkeeper and captain Gurpreet Singh Sandhu after Adil Khan drove the ball inside the box.
After Mabkhout completed his hat-trick at the hour-mark, Ibrahim made a fine finish with the first shot in the 64th minute, before Lima scored two goals in the 71st and 84th minutes.
India's only notable move came just before half-time when Liston Colaco, who made his debut, found Manveer Singh brilliant through the ball but the striker's shot was blocked by the UAE keeper.
result: UAE 6 (Mabkhout 12, 32 and 60, Ibrahim 64, Lima 71 and 84) BT India 0.
